One notable Belgian film that showcases the beauty of Brussels is "The Broken Circle Breakdown." This emotional drama tells the story of a couple who must navigate through love, loss, and music as they struggle to come to terms with a tragedy. Set against the backdrop of Brussels, the film beautifully captures the city's eclectic neighborhoods, picturesque parks, and vibrant music scene. For those looking for a lighter fare, "Man Bites Dog" is a dark comedy that blends humor with social commentary. This mockumentary-style film follows a documentary crew as they shadow a charismatic but sinister serial killer in Brussels. Through its satirical lens, "Man Bites Dog" offers a provocative commentary on media sensationalism and societal morality, all set against the backdrop of the city's gritty urban landscape. On the more experimental side, "Ex Drummer" brings together elements of punk rock and surrealism in a gritty portrayal of Brussels' underground music scene. This edgy film follows a band of misfits as they come together to create chaotic music and unleash their pent-up frustrations on stage. Set in the gritty streets of Brussels, "Ex Drummer" offers a raw and unapologetic look at the city's more unconventional artistic subcultures.
